Awhile back, I was fortunate to have spent some time with kentaro Sakai, when he was learning english by working with Joel Burkhardt. At that time it was really brought home that the japanese language had many great words
for things that were not immediately transferable to english as there were no words. It was frustrating at times but it helped me to understand and progress culturally as well as hobby wise. I would not trade that time for anything.
Dispite this possible loss of information in translation, there is no reason that a dedicated student can't get something valuable from attending an opportunity to learn from 6 different breeders.
Much has been said about the cost, as compared with other breeder seminars being made available at a similar time. Those for the alternative say you get an entire time with one breeder for minimum charge and maximum exposure. the other counters with the cost of having 6 different opportunities to learn from different breeders, the comparison is like apples and oranges. . This is an excellent time as well to purchase koi from these
Japanese breeders. I think it might be fun to compare the koi produced by 6 different breeders at the same time in the same location.
In the end I hope both opportunities to learn are supported because sucesses will lead to other opportunities in the future for the good of the hobby
