night time behavior

Ever since I installed a heater in my pond, I have noticed one odd behavior with my largest kohaku (30"). It is dark the lights have been out for a couple hours and she is lying still on the bottom, no movement, pectral fins firmly back against the body. The other koi are swiming at the surface. Within minuets she is off the bottom and at the surface thinking it is feeding time. I understand the first thought is flukes, but I see no other ill symptoms with her or her buddies. Has anyone else noticed this activity. If she is an early sleeper, she reminds me of myself.
