I'm hoping the sumi is coming up, at least that is what I was betting on with my choice, but only time will tell. I think it will be a great fish one day and I'm looking forward to watching all the changes. Our water here is pretty hard so the sumi will be enhanced here better than other places.
*nodnodnod* I think the sumi is going down and coming up at the same time. The skin on that fish is very nice, but the shiro isn't presenting well yet. It looks to have sumi shades in it, which is telling me that baby sumi is still going down and adult sumi is starting to come in, hence not being able to tell much about what the pattern will or will not do.

Now keep in mind that I am a koi keeping artist, not a koi expert. As an artist, I have a keen eye for observation. I don't miss a whole lot. But knowing exactly what I'm seeing and what to do with it...well that's another matter and I'm learning just like everyone else.

Kindest of regards,
Marie
