I think the count, all in, for both groups is around 28. Not all are active.

The number of judges is set by a complicated estimate of number of shows and number of clubs who want advanced members trained as judges. In ZNA we have a rotation system and when a slot opens up for a new trainee, the waiting list is used. It is wise for all ZNA chapters to make it known if they have a person interested in being a judge so that if a slot opens ( judges are retired at age 70-72) the chapter applicant who is next in line will have their turn. Currently the program is close to new applicants as there is not enough shows to keep the judges working and sharp. Koi show judging is like golf. You need to judge frequently to stay sharp and in form. JR
