Thumbs up UC Davis Seminar

So... back to the topic. I was at the UC Davis seminar, along with Rob and a lot of other koi kichi people, and it was fantastic. There is a lot to cover on the subject, and I wish it could be longer! Ron Hedrick, PhD (not vet, but no less intelligent...gotta give the vet's a nod for the extra years) identified the KHV in 1998 at UC Davis. He was one of the speakers that concentrated on discussing viral diseases - mostly SVC and a little about KHV. SVC is a 'reportable'(to APHIS) disease whereas KHV is not (but should be). Before Dr. Hedrick spoke, the new vet at UC Davis, Scott Weber,DVM spoke about anatomy. Also there was Tim Miller-Morgan, DVM. There were a couple of wet labs, but I skipped out early. My understanding is that the ELISA testing (which is a blood serum test for anti-bodies of KHV) is in the works, and they hope to be able to do it within the next couple of months. Dr. Weber is the veterinarian that works with the AKCA KHV Program. We are really lucky to have him in our area! BTW...I think Rob is a good guy.
