[quote=koiaddictCA;105606]I have a platinum Ogon. It was purchased summer of last year at 4" and is now only 6". Yes its thicker, healthy, proportionate etc. I have heard that Gin Rin & metallic types grow more slowly.

Is this true?

Not true last years all Japan Gin Rin champion was 92cm and the tosai from it which I have are the fastest growing . Big fish produce more big young than small fish . A reputable dealer will give you an idea of how big a fish will grow when he sells it to you .
Of course you will have to pay more money for a quality fish .
