Hello Eugene
I realise the predicament i am in as well. The size of my pond is a limitation. All dealers also have to make a sale and sometimes i also have to take their words with a pinch of salt. According to him i can put 5 koi but base on my logic i feel 3 is max. Now that you are telling me even three is not possible, how about 2?
Yup i am willing to keep only 2 high quality koi. I am desperate. I have no land in my house, the only land i have is an indoor atrium that i have dug to the maximum. This is my best. I want to keep the koi not to show but as a pet that my whole family can grow to like and enjoy their company. I have an 8 month old child that i hope will grow together with the koi.
Putting cheap kois is a possibility but they tend to look not so nice when big, whilst i like kois that can get better with age. I hope you can see my difficulty here. I would be willing even to get one very good quality koi if that is what it takes. Just one

I heard some where that they need others to socialise but hopefully we can provide this koi with plenty of care and love. I would do all that is possible to make the koi happy.
Do you think this plan is feasible? To be honest i dont think i can keep cheap kois. I am a bit fussy when come to these things. So it is either one or two kois. BTW i cannot abandon my project anymore as there is a huge hole in my house already
Thanks again Eugene for your concern.

Edit: Maybe i did not make myself clear, there is a bottom drain of 4" piping and i just receive news that the pond can be about 5' deep. Weird shape though, looks like a well.
