books are rubbish, and mags are right there too.

Those were archaic "modern" ways to deseminate knowledge...Evolution occurs as a whole....when the whole relied on books to communicate new ideas took several years to trickle out to the hobbyists and be absorbed and then "modified" into a better way, that again had to be published to reach the collective mind of the hobby.

Now No one, NO one, No Hobbyist learns from a book... Before a book is proff-read the info in it is available here. before the book goes to the publisher the info in it has evolved.

And mags?
This year's seasonal articles is written with last year's anecdotes.
and all the news is as old as can be...history actually.
Look at the two big shows that have just happened..Gardena and Syphkiss.
Anyone NOT see pics of the Winners? of all the people that were there?
Well if you didn't in about half a year you can..in the Flagship magazine, USA Koi.

So you get "old news" in the mags, and What used to work in books, that ain't too bad. but compare them to here...
here we have UNLIMITED Higher quality pics of the shows and more info than the 8 column inches you will read in the USA Koi Magazine. On top of that it will be correct here, if not it will be corrected PDQ.

And if that isn't enough HERE you can be interactive. here you vcan decide the topic. here you can flesh out the areas of interest, here you can ....
Books HAD their day.

When i was a kid I kept critters. To learn about each one required a month. That is how often the bookmobile came to the Outskirts of Montgomery AL. You could "request" a book on a certian topic, a month later you might get something that answered some of your questions.

Books?
Yeah I have some...for decorations and sentimental reasons.
