I too like to fool with a few tosai knowing that most likely they won't amount to much. There is the rare exception. The reason "I" don't think we see many high quality tosai come over from Japan is the US market. I'm surprised many people would spend 555 or 777 or 999 for a tosai. It just surprises me. I was in Japan in October and I was able to find some nice Nisai- 18 inches, female for $750, landed price in the US. This price includes a dealer commission but not the normal dealer markup. I think these fish would normally sell for $1500-$2000 depending on how good I did selecting them. I mean how could you go wrong with a fish of this quality at 18 inches, $750 and female?
