Not micheal, but here is my take

First off, just because it has been used for 10 years, there are a lot of chemicals left in the wood. More than I would want for my good fish. As for how long it would take, think in human terms. How long does it take for you to show symptoms of an exposure to poisons? and by the time you show any symptoms, do you think it would be too late to do anything about it? If you have fish you love, why put them through that? Spend a few extra bucks and use untreated.

Something else, the pool you are using is pretty tough, and ought to last for a while. lots of water, not much cost. I sometimes use several of them for Q tanks when I get in shipments of fish. But when they fail, and they will, do you have some way to back it up? ie another tank?
