I would also use a 4" drain, but would plan on flowing more through there than 2000 gph. At 2400 gph flow, a 3" drain won't handle it, but it is a little slow for 4". You will see a lot of sediment in the line and possibly leaf clogs right inside the dome cover area from a slow flow. (believe me....I have had first-hand experience with both of these issues). Try to increase the flow closer to 3000 gallons for better results. Or at lease come up with a way that you can flush the line well when you clean the filters, just to keep stuff from building up in there.
