Was out at the blueberry farm today to sort and move the asdagi to bigger facilities. one group looks like dad and one like mom.
the narumi are basically white with red pecs. the reverse have the prettiest blue backs. Interesting.
The kohaku are up to an inch and a half and patterns are beginning to become distinquishable. Didn't find any white ones in the simbetsu but did find a few all red ones. some breeders hang on to a few but mine were offed!
not seeing anything good in the way of kohaku patterns yet on the sanke. they are not growing as fast as I'd like.
Was surprised how big the ochiba's are getting, close to an inch already.
the yamabuki long fins are closer to 5 inches. nice sheen on the koi.
nothing to brag about with showas. good body and ok size but heavy false black covering up beni pattern so will have to wait and see.
The shiro and ginrin shiro are to die for. nice growth fabulous bodies.
active feeders.
the blueberries by the way are dwindling down to the end of the season.
one of our parent kohakus in the grow pond for females eats them out of my cupped hand by the mouthful. she'll be disappointed soon. The old
story of you are what you eat doesn't seem to be working.....blue on a kohaku....gee that would make it an ai-goromo! Too bad it Doesn't work!
Oh well back to the drawing boards!
