one of thre dealers i know was at otsuka's and said the bigger asagi's were in but the two year olds were still in the mud ponds.
My friends from spokane are back and they got good growth on their older koi left in japan this year. 3.5 to 4 inches. said the auction at Toshio's went well and there were some bargains.
My koi kichi from the Uk flew in today so he and his wife could be available for the momotaro auction Thursday. was hopefiul to get word the storm was not an issue and they arrived safely. Good guys like mark cooper are hard to come by.
I know JR is going the end of the month and you could beg some photos from him. The last couple in with Waddington is my koi kichii from the USA and he get there second week of november. I saw pics of his kohaku and sanke from the shintaro harvest and they were awesome. He has a stealth sanke with Daiinichi that is incredible and am hopeful to get news about. All japan quality.
all in all I have heard no health issues from anyone in japan. growth seems good. prices seem "normal". I just haven't heard of too many older super high quality stuff around as it seems they got sold a few years earlier when the economics were dipping severely and now that year category is gone.
I saw some three year olds from hosokai that were extraordinary (narumi asagi) but a little rich for my blood. really nice tho!
sorry no pics but I do try and keep up with the "gist" of things
