Thanks Maurice for the help as I might be running a little to fast

I just thought that I could get a spawn from the female as I was told that she would be ready by this spring. I guess that I will have to purchase another koi of a larger size and older to do what I want. I have been into koi for three years and I do have some other koi but the ones that I have are not that great and dont really care if I spawn them or not, as I dont want a bunch of junk koi.
One thing for sure is koi keeping is my passion and sorry about spelling as I have never been the greatest in that area
Dick you dont have to drop out of this thread if you dont want to as I am sure you can give me some advice to as I need all the help I can get.
I still want to learn how to do artifical spawning as this will take me to the next level.
This goal is a five year goal of mine and I am in the first year of this goal
#1 purchaseing the land
#2 drilling the well
#4 digging the ponds
#5 fencing the property.
#6 pruchaseing my parent stock
#7 spawnging my koi
#8 raiseing my fry
#9selling only show quality koi
#10 I am very determined to make this work for me.
I wont and dont want to get as big as some of the koi dealers ever, I just want to raise some koi for fun and the enjoyment of see other happy with what I have accomplished. I will make this work and like I said this is a five year goal for me. So I have plenty of time to make my errors and learn things that I need to as this is what will make me a better breeder in the long run.
Like I said before I think that I came to the right forum as I have found everyone to be very helpfull. I still have a lot to learn about breeding koi as this will be my first attempt but I will say this that I have raised all types of egg laying fish in small aquairums in the past as this has been my hobby since I was 10 years old. I have never spawned a pair of koi and raised the fry but I am sure that with the past experience that I have it will not be a problem for me. I will say their are things that I dont know and I am very gald that I have the nice peoples on this forum to help me. Thanks everyone,
Judy
