One of the things to keep in mind when reading interviews from a Japanese or other non-English speaking breeders (or anyone else) is that much of the intent of a statement can get lost in translation. "Sinking sickness" may well be what resulted from the translation. We need to think about this when we read articles and such from non-English speaking contributors.
I think "sinking sickness" is to the Japanese as couch-potato syndrome is to the US..
