Few are willing to venture their experiences and understanding of Sumi and it's development. I only wish I had fish with the relitive examples you descibe so as to be able to compare them over time.
I will watch this fish and see how it develops.
I am the kind of Koi keeper who needs to see a fish develop so i'm able to learn how to predict potential.
At this point I tend to agree with you that perhaps this is an example of water color sumi but I lack the experience to know this.
Any other opinions out there? Please share.
Another yr and I'll post it's progress.
