Dick, I purchased two momo from Keirin Koi this past fall, they held them for me until spring. When I recieved the koi I took them both and put them in very large mud pond with other koi, I understood that he would take care of my koi like he did his own and when I went to pic up my koi to bring home they have several bad places on them. My frist thought was ulcers, come to find out it was from bad rough handling when they caught the koi. I was not mad but I found out the hard way you dont just let anyone take care of your koi as you might not like the way they take care of there own.

If I done this I would have to draw up a contract between the two parties so as not to run into lawsuits that would cost me out my butt. I think most people understand that anything can happen to koi in a mud pond and that is a chance you are taking when they are in natural enviroment. I would have to take that risk if I had the money to grow koi out that I wanted to grow big and did not have the space to provide them.

Ok when people buy a new koi they QT before putting them in their pond with the other koi right, so what is the difference if you QT koi and then place them in a mud pond with the other koi that have allready been through the QT process?
