Donations are a good idea. I think we should all think about what we can contribute that might raffle off to help fund research. I have a pile of Barney videos I cannot handle watching one more time.....
One of the things I like about Brian, he treats everyone with equal respect. A trait I know his little girl will absorb. Keep up the good work and thx from us for promoting khv research.
Fun aside-
I hear Keirin is having a cool X-mas blowout with Isawa, might be a great place to chill for some east coasters. He might be a good person for Stephen to meet and possibly have at a future show. Also, Carl is having some knowledgable folks talk about khv and prevention. A good thing for anyone in the show scene to learn about. Especially for those interested in hosting and having shows.
The scoop the intel I gathered on the khv history was this, in the short simple format-
It has been around the food fish industry for a long time, was called something else for many years and not well understood. Food fish guys do not keep fish long enough to worry about curing it. So they mislabeled it, spread it all around the world not knowing what it really was, and so it is now everywhere. KHV does not affect humans, and therefore fish with it can be sold for food consumption. Due to shared facilities, equipment, crossbreeding, etc, it spread into the pet fish breeding scene as well.
Many tropical fish breeders breed shrimp and other fish for food too. The idea of breeders just doing one or the other is a newer thought concept unless you are talking about a high end specialty breeder.
