I've not come close to burn-out .. yet, anyway. But, this hobby is still progressing for me. There's a lot I would have liked to do this past year that I just could not take the time to do. I really do mean to get to the Quality Koi harvest next October. I've not been to any of the California shows. I've not been to Japan. I want to get a half-dozen yellow-stained tosai Shiro Utsuri straight from a mud pond and raise them to 5 years of age, and see some one of them turn blinding white. I'd like to see a large pond with just fully mature single-color koi gliding lazily along the surface...Soragoi, Benigoi, Chagoi ... and even Shiromuji. I want as perfect a Tancho as I can find, and I need to get some Yamabuki, imperfections guaranteed. I want to understand why I've not got the right algae growing on the pond walls. And, why is it that I either draw males or females with fading Hi in every grow-out contest?

This week the Farlowella cats in the angelfish tank spawned and I've not done anything to save the eggs from being cichlid food. Creeping burn-out on aquaria-keeping?? Maybe. The koi seem to keep pushing all my other interests to the side.
