Smile Another angle

Said gravel or sand spec says not to exceed (5) mm in size so a "BB" ammo is (4.5) mm or 3/16 of an inch, for size ref.
very fine sand .05 mm
med sand 0.25-0.5
coarse sand 1.0- 2.0
fine gravel 2.0-5.0 clean water spec

A natural symbiotic water purification, anti-fouling system with colonies of anaerobic and aerobic bacteria doing the clean-up, catches it on the ear again.
We rather depend on custom skid filtration systems, bristling with over-sized pumps, bioreactors, UV sterilizers, ozone generators, protein fractionators and the like. Now you are telling me I can have clean water and have a healthy environment by using just sand or grit on the bottom the size of a "BB"?
So what am I suppose to do with the 8 foot turbo foam fractionator I just bought, and the counter-flow degassing column?
Something is not right here.
