Alrightie.

His name is Peter Tran. He's in Irvine, CA. Sells on eBay as petbetta and interestingly enough has 100% positive feedback and a sterling rep...for the time being.

After emailing him about the casualties on delivery, the MIA kohaku, and nicely asking him how my kohaku got left behind and how it might get here after its ship had sailed, I get this last email from him:

Hello,
Sorry about that. I own you 2 koi in a future shipment. If you create a paypal account, I can refund some money. I appologize for the orange and white kohaku.

Refund 65/7 - 18 dollars

You have a credit of 18 dollars(future shipment or refund through paypal.). .

Best Regards,
peter

Now I paid this guy with a money order because I no longer use PayPal (long story). I told him that PayPal is not an option for me--I told him twice because he didn't seem to understand that some people in this world do not or will not use that service. But it seems that if I want the piddly $18 refund (yeah, they were cheap fish--a neighbor wanted some pond fish and I agreed to pitch in if the kohaku and hariwake were mine) I won't be able to get it without signing up again with PayPal or buying more fish from the guy. You'd think he'd send me a money order like I sent him, but ohhhh no.

Anyway, it's only $18, the neighbor gets a couple extra crapagoi (IF that butterfly doesn't expire), and it's not worth the headache pursuing this any further.

However, at least anyone who is looking for pond koi who hears about this story will be forewarned, and that in itself is worth the pocket change I'm out.

Marie------->sure she's a soap opera star right about now
