Those fish aren't worth whatever shipping was. ($45)
I'll say one thing good about the dealer(?) that sold them to you...he gave them a level of care equal to their worth... and his fish represent the man....
Those are culls at Blackwater creek...and first time through culls at that.

STOP BUYING FISH NOW...

And I'd love to know how you bought these fish and the person that sold you them.
*LOL* Luke. The story is in my last post. I had only wanted a couple out of the group (along with the two ochibas I already have) to see me through the learning curve of building the new hybrid pond and getting it ecologically balanced (just in case I killed 'em in the process). They are not high quality like everyone here is used to, but I'd rather murder a cheap fish (IF I screw up somewhere) than something I'd be crying about for a decade. Besides, once I'm sure my pond idea is going to fly and the fish make it through, I already have someone that will buy them when I'm confident and ready to move on to better quality fish.

So no, it's not so much that I have a bad eye in choosing koi than I have a learning agenda that does not include risking a valuable nishikigoi.

Wanna see the others that flopped out of that box?

Not nearly as pug-ugly as that chag (if that's what it is) and the butterfly, or the other sanke he just threw in there that I won't offend your eyes with showing you. It's a bait fish for sure...

Yes Luke. *crosses heart* No more buying koi until I'm sure my pond design will fly. Then all bets will be off and I'll be out after some quality koi that I will think long and hard about (and ask all kinds of advice from you pros) before buying.

*girl scout salute and a smile*
