| Sounds like a great project and allot of work! MOre water is always better for koi. You will see the difference in the way the fish react in 17,000 liters as compared to 4,000! The fish will thank you believe me! How deep are you planning on making it?
Just don't connect the plant pond and the koi pond to each other, please! Plants and koi should be keep completely separate in my opinion. This goes for the water as well!
