I have Erik L. Johnson's book and it says to easily treat them with salt. So I started a salt dose today. Here's a quote from the book.

Free swimming Costia are extremely smal; graceless wobbly swimmers that look like commas or almost likehalf open couch shells. Costia clears easily with salt, and this infection should be suspected when alot of fish are dying. Finsmay be reddened, and it appears that fish cannot breathe very well. Spiderweb lesions in rapid;y dying fish are also characteristics of Costiasis as well as excess mucus.
