| In theory, transfer can occur through nets or water itself. I am not aware of an instance where a non-fish transmision was identified, but how can anyone ever be sure? The virus is not very hardy in laboratory conditions, and does not live very long out of the presence of carp. However, how it behaves in pond conditions may be very different. |
