Did you really think this was a serious statement!!??
I must say even though I am new. That honesty was my reason for buying my new showa, Kevan(Genki Koi). Took so much time with me, he explained why I should not buy the showa, I had first admired. He said that if I wanted to show koi, which I may down the road, then I needed to learn what makes a fish better than the next one..
Absolutely correct!! That's what he should have done if you are new to the hobby. It's called building a relationship with the customer. Standard practice for an "honest" dealer!!
He could have sold me a fish for more money, than I actually spent. But he understood my goals. So for that I will say that he is in my opinion the most honest dealer in Norcal, that I have dealt with.
How many of the dealers here in the Bay Area have you PERSONALLY dealt with? There are a few more that fall into this category. I've known them personally for many years and their ethics standards are very high as well.
And honesty works for me.
