Populist judging in the USA is now going to give the public more legitimate longfin presence. Personally, I feel this 'third rail' of the garden pond hobby is a perfect example of why judges have a responsibility to hold the line on trends of the moment- or at least to keep them in proper perspective. Once the genie is out of the bottle on feel good and interpretive judging/benching decisions, we may never find our way back.
Words have meaning- kawari is a word, and it has a meaning, both gentically and pheno typically. Stop the madness.
