I could try the sand idea, maybe add a layer to the trickle tower. As long as I get a fine enough mesh for it, and check it often to make sure it doesn't channel, I think it would be worth a try. The sumi on my sanke isn't great either. Could be an interesting experiment. If anything comes of it, I'll let you all know.
So it will either come back, or not. LOL! that's what I figured.
