If the head judge sets the show standard then it will be Shinkokai. Could this have something to do with cash awards? We already interviewed Bill Thompson for our show next week and know the judges include:

-Senichi Mano, chairman of Shinkokai Japan is the head judge.
-Masaaki Matsumura, vice chair of Shinkokai Japan.
-Shunichi Yoshida, vice chair of Shinkokai Japan,
-Ray Abel, Shinkokai U.S.
-Pam Spindola, AKCA & three TBA AKCA candidates,
-Ron Goforth, ZNA

Didf I make a profit selling the koi or not? No. Thus, not a dealer...simple. Its an award, that's all.

As for the judging standard, again, not to be construed to be the same as the rules for the show regarding dealers. I would imagine that would depend on what judge the club has choosen to be the head judge who in turn would use thier standard as would the remianing judges...not that there is any significant difference to begin with. As an example, although I am a ZNA member, I am not a ZNA judge. I am however an AKCA judge. Yet, I have judged ZNA shows alongside of ZNA judges without conflict ( or at least anymore conflict than within the same judging groups...which is and of itself a rare exception) between any differences in "standards".

Now if you are asking what the definition of dealer is for the San Diego show, I suggest that you talk with the show chair, Tom Graham. YOu could also find out who the head judge is to be in that same conversation even though that isn't any kind of issue in my mind.
