Sorry you feel that way, but I'm looking for the same sort of clarity you have harped on. Just the same as you have sought clarity in bylaws and organizational structure I'm asking the same. San Diego will put on a grand show and regardless of what some say about falling participation in their event I believe they will perform admirably and other clubs might should mirror their success. The judging panel alone is exceptional and eye opening. Surely the koi will also be. Why shouldn't other clubs model their activities after them? Why shouldn't cash awards become a standard? Childers states no club chairs would oppose cash awards and in the next breath says large cash awards are detrimental to the hobby. Excuse me, but the distinction there is not very clear. And what of those

No, it has NEVER been an issue concerning my partner and I, or another individual in the same line of work who is on the Board currently. Our NEW business just started at end of 2004. I was on the Board of Directors since 2003 til December '05. In the eyes of AKCA I am NOT A DEALER under their by-laws or the AKCA's definition of such. I don't have a store-front. My partner and I have a very small landscape/pond building business. We currently buy our necessary products from various local dealers (not at wholesale prices). We don't carry any inventory, other than some excess pvc pipe, etc. My partner and I have been officers in our local club for several years, produced 3 koi shows and done more to help our fellow hobbyists than you could ever imagine. We are not, as you so derrogatorily state, "snake oil" salesmen. Quite to the contrary, we are both long time hobbyists that simply are interested in supplementing our retirement income. How's that for "being a damn dealer"?

Between this historical information, what has been posted on the NI board and now the ******* board by RyanS I think maybe you should have a clue as to why I asked the question about whether there were any written by-laws for the U S ZNA organization. I sincerely asked so the definition was clear and I could "do the right thing" for our newly formed chapter. All this could have been avoided but I think maybe YOUR source background information has been provided to you by someone you "think you know" but that we here DO KNOW!! and is simply filled with lies and inuendos to discredit certain individuals. So now, I have done "the right thing", members of my club have been duly notified. Yes, a lot of our members have never been in a club before so maybe aren't up to speed on what goes on in the organizations. Now, having said that, there are some of us who have been around for quite awhile but still didn't know that there was any difference in the rules, provided or not, between the two organizations. Now, take that coupled with the fact that our founder had SEVERAL discussions with the District Chairman and Japan to form this club, WHICH INCLUDES TRYING TO WRITE BY-LAWS, and you see where it started - We were basically told there was nothing in writing that could be sent to him to assist him in putting the language together - then, AFTER THE FACT, we're told, oh yeah, by the way, this or that is wrong and you MUST change your by-laws. Just all became a very confusing issue.

Now, you and several others have previously stated that you have been involved in writing/re-writing by-laws for clubs/organizations. So have I. YES, IT IS A PAIN IN THE NECK TO MAKE SURE THE WORDING IS TOTALLY BULLETPROOF AND YES IT IS A VERY TIME CONSUMING PROCESS! But after 40 years of being a District, why hasn't anybody (until one person did this last meeting) stood up and said "WE NEED TO HAVE BY-LAWS IN WRITING" - if for no other reason than it is a part of the REQUIREMENTS OF THE FEDERAL TAX LAW STRUCTURE UNDER THE HEADING OF 501(C)3 - FRATERNAL ORGANIZATIONS. There were comments made about how long it takes and so-on and so-on. Well, if the members keep saying it, it becomes procrastination and it will never get done, GET IT?!?

If you think, for one minute, you are endearing yourself to anyone here on this board, I'd like some of what you're smoking!!! I bet your previous journalistic experience includes working for rags like the Star and the Enquirer - "enquiring minds want to know"!!!!!!!ROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, take your journalistic crapola someplace else. Frankly, I'm tired of it.

Why hasn't this thread been put to bed "OUTSIDE"????
