| Koi Club Election Time: How Participatory is your Election? It is club election time in many clubs around the country from what I gather. And I’m pretty darn proud of my home club the North Florida Koi Club for making sure the slate of candidates for next years board was prominently displayed along with invitations for everyone to attend and participate and picking their club leaders. And there is no rubber stamp that anyone can honestly claim is secretly guiding who will control next year’s board. How does your home club do it? Is there an election committee assigned? Are members encouraged to participate on the board and an election held to democratically allow the club to move in the direction the majority of members would prefer? Where there is interest in making a club a stronger more dynamic force in the hobby it takes as much participation as possible from longtime and brand new members alike. I like seeing everyone getting the chance to participate in the club they support with dollars and volunteer effort. How about you? |
