NW storms no fun

The sun is shining brightly this morning. The lawn is littered with branches torn from my towering cedars and firs around the house. Winds were hurricane force ( 70 MPH +) yesterday afternoon, evening and into this morning. Didn't sleep between the roar of the generator and howl of wind interrupted by breaking branches that sounded like pistol shots. Power went out around 5:30 last night ( had pre-cooked supper in anticipation ) so it was a few minutes on the propane cook stove and supper was served. Lost a few sections of cedar fencing that are now flat. But the girls are fine, maybe 5 mins total no running water....makes you appreciate having a generator at your disposal. I had several cans of fuel that i had added a can of special ingredients to keep fuel fresh for long storage periods. So if you live in a place where heat and filtration is of concern and you could go for days without power ( total was about 16 hrs ) your next investment should go to Honda. I have lived here for about 25 years and never experienced a storm like last night.

Sorry Julia, I didn't back to your greenwater thread, looks like the guys took very good care of ya!
