| yeah strange that all of them died.. maybe there was so many fungus eggs rotting in not enough water and the water got too foul. 25 degree bad water with high pH will tend to wipe out a lot.
i had that once when i bred some golden perch. there was soooo many eggs and the water so warm that i had all this oil and muck everywhere, trouble was i had only a couple of thousand litres worth of tanks.
so i guess its unatural to have so many eggs in a small amount of water, sometimes it might be wise to actually throw some eggs away if you dont have space for them all.
this also happened just now with a pond full of goldfish.
i was worried that i hadnt bred enough fish so i found some really fat ones and added them to the spawn, i got this massive hatchout and about 3 times what i would consider normal or safe.
now everyday im seeing heaps of dead fish on the top but im still seeing way too many alive ones also. this pond will keep dying until the numbers suit. |
