| Seine Nets---Where to get 'em and what kind to buy....
Well, it's long past time to move the sarassas out of the koi pond and one koi into the QT for a fungus treatment and I can't catch the buggers for nuthin'. Water's too cold to pick them up by hand (which I've done all summer long just so they'd be easy to catch and handle. Ha!) as I shiver so much it scares them. Chasing them with a shallow 15" skimmer net all over a 4000 gallon pond that's 3/4 covered for the winter really is an impossible task, but I really have to get these fish out (and the one QT'd and treated) before the tigerlily comes home.
What makes a good seine net for koi? Materials, size, etc.
Anyone know of a good establishment to buy a good seine net that would be adequate for a 7' x 18' x 4' deep pond? Anyone have one they want to sell or trade off? How about a loan of one? I'm good--unlike the people I've loaned books to, I WILL return it post haste. Anybody wanna come up here and help me catch 'em before my friend Bubba takes a turn at it? (I'll have to tell you Bub's koi catching story later *L*)
