I have about a dozen very nice Bonsai and 2 dogs ( well one is a friggin monster, that belongs to hubby) and 2 ponds full of above average pond grade fish , and we still manage to travel to Japan twice a year, and we will be going to Spain this June. Koi and Bonsai and Dogs don't keep us from traveling, Thats what having grown children are for, to take care of everything while we enjoy life
