However, as Jim has pointed out, your filter must be able to handle the food waste that the koi do not consume. Unlike a koi pellet, when paste food hits the water, some of the powder ingredients dissipate into the water. Even messier is when the fish hit.
Is there some tricks to keep the paste food in as a solid mass rather than fouling the water column with food that doesn't go into the koi's gut. Most know that orange juice helps the mix be more user friendly. Does it help to prepare the mix and let it sit for a period of time? How about chilling it down.
