There may have been some specifics about the mineral content of your pond water that caused the problem. The wrong combination of CO2, O2, and Iron in water can produce acids that rapidly attack unprotected metals. That being said, the addition of a secondary anode to improve cathodic protection to the coil should easily solve the problem. |
