Barb, fish school, true. They sure as hell don't herd. I tend to call them "the fish" and describe their quantity as "a messa." You're right though, I am highly reactive in an allergic sort of way to "herd." Sorry Joseph.

Now Miss Marie, seeing as you enjoy quoting commercials, how about a cartoon reference? Your thread has progressed from hijacked to "a fractured fairy tale."
*LMAO and generally spewing coffee all over the keyboard* No Mickey, I'm not the lass with gas, I'm the lass with class LOL! Oh I wish that had been a track machine coming down the drive instead of a blown water heater being drug out of the side of the house and the new one being installed so I can enjoy my long hot Calgon getaways again. It superceded the trip to get the tractor w/frontloader yesterday. Today, if nothing else blows up or goes wrong, there should be a tractor w/front loader delivered by afternoon. *beams*

I'm with you and Barb on the "herd" thang. (sorry Joseph )
I have a herd of horses in my pasture--12,000 lbs of thundering herd when it's feed time. I have a flock of chickens, a colony of cats and a pack of dogs in my yard. And I have two schools of fish in my ponds....English majors are compelled to use the proper terminology or they feel like Dee Dee Dee's in the middle of a Fractured Fairy Tale..... *L*
