Kindai ARE tricky. I also would worry how the fish looks at size 5 as the beni is lacking in the rear. The skin on this fish however is exceptional! IF the fish finishes well and the beni all holds in, a fish with great skin like this can carry pattern flaws easily. The white will be the element that carries this fish and what will support the bright soft look of the beni, even as limited as it is.
So if, in addition, you wind up with bold sumi and a great body, your in business! In other words, quality of skin can overcome pattern weaknesses. JR
PS. I should have finished this post by saying- this fish IS a tategoi. We just don't know how far it will come?
