hikui is real tough to treat. I have tried many drugs, and none worked. I ended up giving 2 of my hukui infect sakai sanke to my ex gardener. he had a 3000g pond with 108 kois, no regular water change. He only change water, the whole pond, 3-4 times a year. he flushed his bead filter once or twice a month. Next to the pond were a couple of funky trees that kept dropping leaves into the pond. less than 3 months later, the hikui was gone from both koi.
He broke all koi keeping rules : water change, what water change ? He feed like crazy, like 40Kg a month, with cheap food, I think it was haifeng or something.
Maybe good food is the problem ? maybe green pond is the answer, maybe the tree did magic. Who know ? Now he has 2 extremely nice Sakai sanke.
