I agree!! A drain, even in a watergarden, makes cleaning so much easier. I had a 4" drain in my lily pond. At the time, it was not connected to a filter, but was used only for cleaning. I opened the valve every couple of weeks to keep the line flushed out and drained the pond for annual cleaning. that drain made pond cleaning a breeze. Now I use the pond to grow out small koi and I am very glad that drain was there. It gravity feeds a filter now so the koi have a healthy pond.
