Having done both of pressurized and gravity feed filtering, I recommend pressurized filter right after the settling tank for easy weekly maintenance work.
my old setup which require lots of maintenance work. pre-filter and biofilters are all gravity fed
pond water => settling tank => pre-filter with j-mats => pump => biofilter1 =>biofilter2 => water return to pond
new setup which reduced 80% of weekly maintenance work.
pond water => settling tank => pump => Ultima II => biofilter => return to pond
lots more time enjoying the fish
