Hi All, I back washed my mechanical filter for the first time and not much came out? 5000 gallon pond the filter is rated to 10,000 (bought one knowing needed new larger pond.)
No smell at all? I have a 1/3 HP pump and plenty of umph. Water tests ok

ORP came last week have been too busy to study the manual
to use properly so I don't stick the whole thing in the pond and ruin it.
It's beautiful I ended up getting a JUMO with orp and Ph probes.
