Too small for tosai. The fat content is great but lots of other more size appropriate foods are available. Try blackworms. There's a major distributor out your way that will ship them once a week to you overnight. You buy them by the pound!
Every morning I go out and 'harvest' live food from some set ups I have on the property ( large wooded area). Lots of mosquito larva and daphnia. Great for my tropicals ( I can get a sailfin mollie up to an inch in 3-4 weeks) but not even practical for my goldfish. The real benefit of daphina is that each one is protein and fat but it is also filled with algae. Talk about a balanced diet! But after the koi si out of the Larval stage and is a full blown fry, the daphnia is probably only practical for another 30-60 days at best? JR
