Yes the new diffuser hose I found is about 1/4 in ID. I used 1/4 in t's fittings and they worked find. The diffuser hose from Japan is about 1/2 ID. So the wall thickness is greater on the new ones. I converted the large nitrotech vortex chambers (middle filter) which are about 85-90 gallons as I remember. I have increased the K1 to 5 cf in each plus 1 cf of the biochips. I use a 200 lpm hiblow airpump to supply both chambers so 100 lpm for each. The nitrotechs are in a set of three chambers. The first is for settlement and I have installed a row of brushes in mine. The 2nd is my DIY moving bed chamber, the 3rd is un-aerated japanese matting to help catch the fines that pass through the moving bed chamber. |
