Flounder I suggest you get on down to Brett's or wait until Shigeru comes over again and have them show you an adult classic Dainichi showa. Showa is very dependent on bone structure to carry the colors, especially black as it is a 'heavy' color. The refining of showa has been thru the introduction of gosanke ( remember, showa as a modern fish is last to join the gosanke triad). And Dainichi showa are known for the sold bone structure, big shoulders and of course, the dianichi delicate shiro and beni. The only knock on Dainichi showa and sanke is that they don't get as big as some of the gosanke lines/types. This is of course, against a backdrop of showas being generally smaller than kohaku and sanke as a variety. So 'long and thin' I don't think so unless you are talking about young fish in development? Otherwise the fish I picked out of that group is a typical look for that line.

Here would be two examples of adult Dainichi showa , showing classic body type- JR
