Last winter my water got down into the 40's. Someday I hope to enclose my pond but for this winter I just installed a new heater. It's a 5,5 KW, 220 volt spa heater. For me in my area I can get far more BTUs from a dollar of Elec. than a dollar of propane, so elec. was the way to go. It has a thermostat that goes from 0 to way over 100, and a low flow shut off switch. So far in 24 hours my water temp has come up 6 degrees. I'm just about at my target temp of 60. |
