I tend to shy away from buying Tosai due to the increased risk associated with future development, the first being male vs female. Gosankes are even tougher since then you have the added risk of beni development and with Sankes and Showa, sumi development.
All that being saids, when I look at Tosai with sumi, I always attempt to look for an area with some developed sumi so that I can judge the quality of that sumi (true with Shiros as well.
Looking at your pictures, I can not ascertain any area with sumi development to make that decision on and in addition, the motoguro is not what I'd be looking for either.
But hey, its all a "crap shoot."
