large koi mouth

You are correct,

The large koi is still in its rough stage. I plan to tweak it within the next two weeks. The mouth is troubling me and I might decide to just close the mouth.

The smallest koi was completed last night. I will not alter it any more until I receive additional feedback. The medium size koi is undergoing new fins and additional detailing. (see attachment)

The large koi will not have its scales detailed until I am given a green light on the overall confirmation.

I have taken several images of koi with their mouth open, but I have not located an image that grabs my attention.

On Jan 12, the Nishiki koi club meets for their monthly meeting. I will be taking all three koi to the meeting in order to obtain valuable feedback from the members (members consist of breeder and judges).

The aim is to sculpt the three koi in the correct confirmation; therefore, giving these beautiful fish justice.

I will post new images once a week as the work progresses. All work pertaining to the koi sculpture will be posted on… http://www.handsofcaesar.com/bronze-koi-nishikigoi-sculpture-1.html . As the page fills with images, just scroll to the bottom of the page to find the continuation page…
