Hi,

I just know the breeders of a few koi. The GC is a Sakai Kohaku from the Rose Bloodline, 78cm, 4,5 years.

Adult Champion A and B are both from Ogata, 60 cm.

The Jumbo A is a 91cm Sanke. If I am not wrong it is also a Sakai Koi. The koi is 6,5 years old.

Big show -- and judging by the photos, some very high quality koi.

Congrats on your show and thank you for sharing.

Very nice fish, congrats on your show, wow that is alot of fish entered and alot of entrants.. Perhaps you could share with us, how large of a geographical area did all the entrants come from? Koi shows in the USA seem to be suffering from lack of participation and vollunteers. What did your show do differently then we do here? Is there less koi clubs? less shows per year?
I would love to see a show here in the USA with that kind of fish count, it could be a mini AJS.

Hi Nancy,

here in Jakarta we always had between 800-1000 entries per show. The last All Indonesian Show in Dec. 2006 had 1041 entries. Even we have very high entry fees (between 20-150 USD per fish) people here like to participate. We had entries from 9 countries (Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hongkong, Brunei, Scotland, Austria, Germany). The Indonesian entries mainly come from the Java Island which stretches about 1500 km from west to east. But there were also participants from Sulawesi Island. These people still had their fishes at their Jakarta dealers and participated the show before they get their koi delivered. We also do a lot for the entertainment. There was a lucky draw with prizes such as shopping vouchers, 14"-21" TV's, DVD players and 2 small motorbikes. The award ceremony was held by local celebs who also did a small show inbetween. I think this concept works well and people like to join again. BTW, we have around 3-4 major shows per year plus smaller area shows.
